Streamline your purchase orders on TradeGecko by adding tags

Purchase orders can serve as points of reference to trace where things went wrong in the event a buyer receives an order that does not comply with the desired specifications. If this happens, you don’t want to spend days sifting through every purchase order to find the correct one – especially when you’re trying to remedy the situation!

Once signed, purchase orders are legally binding contracts  which include the description of the merchandise ordered, the order quantity, payment terms, along with the shipping date and location.

Good inventory management depends on having purchase orders that

  • provide sellers with accurate comparisons of ordered inventory against inventory shipped and those on hand.

and

  • allows for a method of tracking when payments are made on specific orders.

As always, we’re here to help you say goodbye to another manual process and say hello to our new tagging feature.

This feature lets you add tags to both existing and new purchase orders on TradeGecko… that way you can easily find them when you need them! Be sure to stop by our post on the support page for a guide on how to add tags to your purchase orders.

Why you should add tags to your purchase orders:

  • Monitor incoming stocks

Adding tags will also make it easier to search for a specific order type or supplier, so you can track the status of your orders -- what’s coming in, how much, where, and when.

That way, you won’t have to open every purchase order to check its contents and arrival date, thus allowing you to know exactly how much stock you have and to plan accordingly.

  • Forecast seasonal demand

Tagging your purchase orders can also help you to identify products that are seasonal or for specific promotions.

For seasonal products, tagging these will help you in forecasting and developing sales and inventory plans before the season begins. You’ll know the quantity and intervals of orders last season (and the one before last too!) needed to match and top past sales by searching for the appropriate tag.

Through these, you’ll be able to gauge how much stock to order to minimize the possibility of overstocking or stockouts.

Helping you add tags to purchase orders is the first of many new offerings to come from us, as we try to further streamline the inventory management process for you by ensuring all your purchase orders are organized.

Our goal is (and will remain) to help you optimize your supply chain, so that you can focus on the most important thing: growing your business.
